Get to Know an Agent in Attendance: Gretchen Stelter of Sourcebooks

Gretchen Stelter is an editor with Sourcebooks.

She is seeking all kinds of young adult fiction.

She also seeks most types of romance (anything except for historical). Sourcebooks Bloom seeks spicier, edgier (and mainly successfully self-pubbed) romance; while Sourcebooks Casablanca does a whole range, from dark romance to contemporary and suspense.

With a long career of helping authors, both traditional and self-published, she is also always happy to spend her conference meetings answering questions. If you need need advice on your publishing path, feel free to meet with her.

About her: “Starting out in publishing in 2005, I helped launch a literary agency on the West Coast. Five years later, I sold my stake in the company to my business partner, so I could focus on the creative side full-time. Both while there and since, I’ve helped develop and edit a variety of fiction, from thriller and sci-fi to young adult and romance, as well as lifestyle books, cookbooks, self-help, and memoirs, working on New York Times, USA Today, and Entertainment Weekly bestsellers; NPR Best Books; ITW Thriller Awards winners; Best Books from Bustle and Paste Magazine; and those with starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Library Journal.”
